Actress Joey King is set to marry her partner Steven Piet after nearly two and a half years of being together.
“I never realized joy could be so overwhelming, taking away my breath and filling every part of me with undeniable happiness, causing my eyes to well up,” the 22-year-old actress captioned a series of engagement photos on Instagram on Tuesday.
“I never knew that a persons presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so unquestionably beautiful. I never realized until you.“
King reportedly started dating the 30-year-old producer/director in September 2019 after meeting on the set of the Hulu miniseries, “The Act.”
“The date was 2/2/22 when you asked me to marry you and made me the luckiest lady alive,” she revealed. “I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Spending my life with you sounds like a real dream, so let’s do it.”
Piet also shared photos from their engagement, writing, “The weather was less than perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend a lifetime together. King previously dated her “Kissing Booth” co-star Jacob Elordi for about a year before parting ways in 2018.
King previously spoke about their very public breakup and her wish to find her “Happy ending eventually.”
“In this world, everyone wants to know your business and what you’re doing” King told Entertainment Tonight in 2020. “And I think it’s very interesting when you go through things and people kind of feel like they’re owed an explanation, but I understand.”
“For me, I’ve publicly gone through some things, privately gone through some things, it’s all about finding your balance, finding what makes you comfortable,” she added. “And it can be brutal, but you know happy endings do come to those who are patient.”

Steven Piet is renowned as a tv and film director, writer, and producer. In his capacity as a director, he has been known to have directed two episodes of Free and Plan B.
He has assumed several diverse roles in the entertainment industry, though. He has also directed episodes of Briarpatch and Channel Zero. He wrote and directed the film Uncle John, released in 2015.
Steven also served as a consulting producer on Nightflyers in 2018, based on a series of short stories by Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin.
Prior to this, he worked as a cinematographer, digital imaging technician, and editor in other projects.
In an interview, Piet opened up about his experience working with the cast of The Act, including King. He said, “I felt like my job was to step back as much as I could, and just have the camera in the right place and let these amazing actors do what they do best… At times, I was so lost in their performances that I was forgetting to say ‘Cut.’
Piet’s other credits include co-writing and directing the 2015 indie Uncle John, which debuted at SXSW Film Festival, and his work on the Syfy series Channel Zero and Nightflyers.
Piet and King concealed their Romance on social media until Christmas 2020.
Piet doesn’t have much of a Twitter or Instagram presence.
Following Christmas Day 2020, King shared a photo of Piet posing together by a Christmas tree. “Chr!stmas!,” she captioned the photo.

According to TV Guide Time, Steven turned 30 on May 22, making him eight years older than Joey. She posted a super sweet message for his special day on Instagram.
