Subsequent to four long years of quest, Alicia Navarro, an 18-year-old from Glendale, Arizona, who vanished without a trace, has been discovered safe. 

Navarro disappeared at the age of 14, causing distress and fear to her family and friends. 

Her unexpected reappearance in a small Montana town, approximately 1,000 miles away from her home state, has been described as a miracle.

Navarro, now 18, was recognized by herself after arriving at a local police station situated 40 miles from the Canadian border. 

She has been diagnosed as high-functioning on the autism spectrum and was believed to have been enticed away by someone she encountered online.

After Navarro vanished in September of 2019, Glendale police, the FBI, and Navarro’s family initiated a massive search to locate the teenager. 

Over the years, police received thousands of tips, but all efforts to locate her were fruitless.

Following Navarro’s disappearance, her family received messages that seemed to be from the teenager, but the FBI could not authenticate their source. 

The tips disheartened the family as each of them led to a dead end.

The reunion with her mother

Jessica Nunez, Navarro’s mother, had previously voiced concerns that her daughter might have been coerced into leaving by someone she met online. 

Upon learning that her daughter was found safe, she thanked God for answering prayers and performing this miracle. 

Nunez described the reunion as “emotionally overwhelming,” and Navarro apologized to her mother for what she put her through. 

Navarro reassured her mother during the reunion that she had not suffered any harm.

Investigators determining what happened

Investigating officers are still endeavoring to discern what occurred to Navarro while she was missing. 

They declare that the case is far from being closed. They will persist in investigating her whereabouts for the past four years alongside their federal partners, 

Police spokesman Jose Santiago conveyed at a news conference that despite Navarro had been located safe and happy.

The case remains open, and they wish to know what occurred to her during the four years she was missing.

Navarro was not being held captive and had the freedom to come and go as she pleased. 

Santiago also confirmed that no criminal charges were being filed against her.
