In her post, she expressed gratitude towards her doctor, who detailed the reversal process on her own profile, reminding social media users of the crucial aspect of filler placement in the treatment.

Fans and colleagues praised Schumer for being truthful about her decision to disclose her short journey with fillers. Many appreciated her openness about being dissatisfied with the appearance of the process.

This isn’t the first instance where the Emmy winner has candidly discussed health-related challenges on social media.

In 2019, Schumer and her spouse Chris Fischer welcomed their baby boy, Gene.

After giving birth, Schumer revealed she underwent an emergency c-section due to her endometriosis. The removal of her appendix was also necessary due to the condition.

Schumer has repeatedly lauded her spouse for his support and has openly expressed their relationship.

About Chris Fischer

Fischer was born in Martha’s Vineyard, an island situated south of Cape Cod in Massachusetts.

He grew up on a farm, acquiring knowledge about food and agriculture from his father, who worked as a commercial fisherman.

Fischer’s expertise in food led him to pursue his aspiration of becoming a chef, and he relocated to Manhattan to work under the renowned chef Mario Batali.

Subsequently, he spent several years working in Rome and London before returning to the United States as the head chef at the Beach Plum Inn in Massachusetts.

Fischer chose to return to Martha’s Vineyard and continue working there in 2007.

In an interview with the Vineyard Gazette, Fischer stated:

“I ventured off to master the art of food; upon my return, I aspired to cultivate food.”

While working at the Beach Plum, Fischer met food writer Catherine Young. They decided to collaborate on a cookbook, in which Fischer shared narratives about his family and their connection with farming the land.

“The idea for the book emerged from the desire to share the local environment and activities here, and I believed my perspective on this culinary movement was worth disseminating.” he expressed.

How Did Amy Schumer Meet Her Spouse?

When asked about how she encountered her spouse, Schumer mentioned that she was at Martha’s Vineyard and visited the Fischer family farm where they initially interacted.

The star of Trainwreck recalled that it was there where her future husband prepared a meal for her and her assistant – who coincidentally happened to be his sister.

Initially opting for friendship, the comedienne requested Fischer to cater a dinner for her friend Rachel Feinstein’s birthday.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Schumer reflected that “it felt as if [they] were co-hosting this event together,” sharing that she developed feelings for him during the preparation for the occasion.

“And I thought, ‘Uh oh.’ You know? I got that sensation where the blood rushes to all the right places. And we gazed at each other a bit longer. And everything transformed.” she added.

The couple tied the knot on February 13, 2018, in Malibu.

Schumer Discusses Her Spouse’s Autism

During her Netflix stand-up special, Growing, Schumer informed her audience about her spouse’s Asperger’s diagnosis.

“He has autism spectrum disorder. He’s on the spectrum. There were some indications from the start. … Once he received the diagnosis, it struck me as hilarious. Because all the characteristics that indicate he’s on the spectrum are the very reasons why I fell deeply in love with him.”

She went on to express her appreciation for his directness, a quality she greatly admires in her spouse.

Many have praised Schumer for her honesty regarding her spouse’s condition, with her commitment to doing justice to him being highly commended.

The Challenging Birth of Their Son

Several months after the wedding, Schumer mentioned to her fans that she and her spouse were expecting their first child.

The comedienne continued to work during her pregnancy, opting to go on tour and film her Netflix special during that time.

In November of that year, Schumer was diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition causing severe nausea, weight loss, and vomiting.

Just before her Texas show, she was rushed to the hospital, apologizing to those who had purchased tickets to see her.

Her emergency c-section was a terrifying experience for both herself and her spouse, but knowing that they had detected the condition in time alleviated some of their concerns.

Schumer described the birth of their son in an article in Health, stating that her endometriosis made the situation even more “grueling.”

According to Schumer, she was

“vomiting throughout the initial hour of [her] C-section. It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half—[hers] took over three hours because of [her] endometriosis,”

Having her spouse by her side made the challenging situation a little more bearable, and Schumer mentioned that he was “so supportive,” adding that the couple “gazed into each other’s eyes and he just embraced [her] there.”

Her endometriosis became an even greater concern when her doctor observed 30 sites of the condition in her uterus, informing Schumer that it had to be promptly removed.

Her appendix also suffered due to being affected by the same sites.

Schumer and her spouse attempted to conceive a second child before her surgery in 2020. The comedienne informed her social media followers that they had tried getting pregnant through IVF.

Unfortunately, the procedure was unsuccessful, and Schumer received compassionate messages from other women who had experienced similar disappointments.

“I am extremely grateful for our son and for having the means to seek help in this manner. I wanted to share this and send love and strength to all the courageous women who go through this process,” she conveyed to her followers.
