CNN executive Allison Gollust has stepped down following an inquiry that revealed that she, former CNN head Jeff Zucker, and Chris Cuomo violated company policies.
The examination, carried out by a third-party law firm, looked into the conduct of the trio in connection to Chris Cuomo and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
As stated in the memo issued by Jason Kilar, CEO of CNN’s parent company WarnerMedia, the investigation scrutinized “over 100,000 texts and emails” from more than 40 individuals.
The investigation determined that Jeff Zucker, Allison Gollust, and Chris Cuomo had breached CNN’s News Standards and Practices.
Following the initiation of the investigation in September, Kilar concluded the inquiry last weekend, leading to a statement acknowledging the challenging news. “I realize this news is troubling, disappointing, and frankly, painful to read,” Kilar wrote. “These are valid feelings many of you have.”
