Andrew Dawson Obituary Campbell River – How Did He Die?

The family of Andrew Dawson shared the specifics of his demise. Andrew Dawson, aged 88, passed away at New Horizons at 1:30 pm on April 12, 2017. 

Andy was born to Stewart and Mabel Dawson at Lourdes Hospital in Campbell River. 

His father, Stewart, served as the initial provincial constable stationed in Campbell River. Andy’s early years were spent on a farm situated on the current grounds of New Horizons. 

He commenced his career in the logging industry and subsequently transitioned into working as a pile driver with Gagne’s before eventually purchasing the enterprise with his brother Ron and Horsey Calnan, establishing DCD Pile Driving.

Andy and his spouse, Dorene, raised six children and Al on their pastime farm in Oyster River. During his free time, Andy delighted in model trains, firearm collections, hunting, and tending to his dogs, most notably George. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Mabel Dawson, brothers Keith, Don, and Bill, sisters Gladice and Margaret, and son Kyle.

He is survived by his brother Ron (Jean), his wife Dorene, daughters Yvonne, Joyce, Kim, Kori (Don), son Kurt (Shawna), Al (Faye), and extended family. 

A commemoration was conducted on May 6 at 1:00 pm at Sutton’s Campbell River Funeral Home. The family would welcome donations to New Horizons in honor of Andy. 

They would like to convey their appreciation to all those who have provided their love, support, and solace during this challenging period.
