In his statement, Rick expressed that he had lost his son and best friend, Bob Lee, on the streets of San Francisco early on Tuesday morning.

He also shared that they had moved from California to Miami in October 2022 and that he was glad they were able to develop a close relationship over the last few years. Bob was known for his kind nature, his hard work, and his intelligence.

He never judged anyone and had a strict no-judgment philosophy. His family and friends will miss him, and they appreciate the support they have received.

Despite his reputation and success, Lee was tragically killed on the crime-ridden streets of San Francisco, and no arrests have been made yet.

He was 43 years old and had recently moved to Miami with his wife Krista, with whom he had two daughters.

Lee was the chief product officer of cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin but was in the Bay Area on a week-long business trip when he was killed.

The former Bob Lee’s spouse remains silent on his demise

The former Bob Lee’s spouse, Krista, has not shared any official statement on his demise yet.

According to his friends, he had decided to extend his trip by one day when the attack happened.

Earlier today, Joshua Goldbard, the founder of MobileCoin, expressed his admiration for Bob Lee on Twitter, stating that Bob was an incredible human being and that referring to him in the past tense felt absurd.

Goldbard also described Lee as an artist and someone with a kaleidoscopic mind. Goldbard went on to express his grief over the loss of a dear friend, whom he considered a brother.

Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, described Lee as being instrumental to Square and Cash App, and also expressed his condolences.

When was it founded?

The establishment of Cash app took place in 2013. Cash App, a mobile payment service developed by Square, has witnessed notable growth in recent years.

In 2019, the app had 44 million verified monthly users and made profits of $1.8 billion. As of 2020, the app was valued at around $40 billion, according to Forbes Magazine.

This valuation reflected the app’s increasing popularity and the rise of digital payments in general.

Cash App has also been able to capitalize on the growing trend of digital payments.

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing many businesses to switch to contactless payments, Cash App has become a popular option for consumers who prefer not to use cash or credit cards.

The app’s ability to process payments quickly and securely has also facilitated it in gaining a devoted following.

Cash App generated a gross profit of $2.95 billion, up 43% year over year, and had a net profit of the same amount. In 2022, the app had 51 million monthly active users, and 13 million people had a Cash Card in 2021.

Overall, Square wants Cash App to be more than a simple payment tool and aims for it to be a hub for all financial interests.
