It was newly divulged that vocalist Camila Cabello sold her Hollywood Hills abode for $4.3 million.
Cabello, who acquired the house in 2019, purportedly offloaded it for $350,000 more than its listed price.
After her separation from singer-songwriter Shawn Mendez last month, she made the decision to sell the residence.
They declared their split in a joint statement shared on both singers’ social media accounts:
“Hey guys, we’ve resolved to conclude our romantic relationship but our affection for each other as humans is stronger than ever,” including, “we initiated our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward Camila and Shawn.”
The news was shocking to many of their enthusiasts, but numerous anticipated the couple would separate before the conclusion of 2021.
Nobody knows what led to their split, as an overview of their relationship does not indicate there was trouble in paradise.
The former Fifth Harmony member and the vocalist have had a whirlwind romance. Here is an overview of the relationship that took social media by storm.
July 2015: Sparks Fly
The twosome was first photographed together at the 2015 Video Music Awards in Los Angeles.
Cabello was still a member of Fifth Harmony at the time, and Mendes had just begun making a name for himself in the music scene.
They posed together in snapshots of the post-award show afterparty.
In Mendes’ Netflix documentary, Shawn Mendes: In Wonder, the couple reminisce about their initial impressions of one another:
“Camila, she was in Fifth Harmony and we were both opening my very first tour ever,” Mendes states. “She was the act after me. I was the first in the lineup, with the shortest set, and then they went on. Five years ago, man.”
Cabello added that Mendes was extremely engrossed in his performances,
“I never saw him that whole tour. He was constantly going in and out of his bus, playing guitar, writing songs with Geoff (Warburton).”
In November, the two released their song ‘I know what you did last summer’, performing at various variety talk shows.
During promotional rounds, the two extolled each other’s work ethic and said they were eager to maintain the professional relationship.
In 2016, they won the Best Pop Video and Fan Favorite awards at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and their chemistry was palpable during their acceptance speeches.
Rumors of their romance reached a peak after the release of Mendes’ third album.
During promotion, he praised Cabello, telling Zane Lowe:
“Oh my God, she is my favorite person in the whole world. I don’t think you’ll ever meet somebody who can feel emotion like her, in all aspects, […] Her love for what she believed in was so powerful that it just kind of pushed me to like make an entire album out of inspiration of the one night.”
June 2019: The Release of Señorita
Acclaimed as the scorching summer anthem of 2019, Cabello and Mendes’ music video for ‘Señorita’ was the best portrayal of their attraction to one another.
Around the time the video was released, Cabello had announced her separation from Matthew Hussey.
The two were frequently photographed together after the song was released, often seen smooching in public and hand-in-hand on date nights.
Cabello even shadowed Mendes on his tour that year and was never seen solo.
A source told Entertainment Tonight that “Shawn and Camila originally were just enjoying spending time together and having a summer fling,” noting that “Camila had just got out of a relationship and Shawn was in the middle of a massive tour. But Shawn and Camila have really fallen for one another.”
It seemed as though they were Instagram official when Cabello revealed a picture of the two on her profile with the caption “Happy birthday to this magic human, I love you!!!!” In August.

Their passionate performance of the song at the 2019 VMAs was the sole evidence social media needed to accept they were officially an item.
The song shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart immediately after their almost-kiss at the end of the live performance, a fact that got fans extremely excited to see more of the couple.
That year, Cabello told ELLE she had finally experienced falling in love, saying,
“Honestly, this past year and a half was the first time I really experienced falling in love with another person. I think there is so much more depth to love when you know you are in it with another person. You have so much more to say—I think that’s what makes me emotional,” she said. “I’ve loved people from afar, but falling in love with someone and having feelings for someone but they don’t know…. It’s different.”
When asked about the public’s reaction to her relationship with Mendes, Cabello was candid about not worrying what people thought, telling the magazine:
“They can speculate, but at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is watching. That is how I want to live. I never want to open the door for people to feel like they are involved. Like I said, I want it to be mine and [his]. That’s why I’m so tight-lipped about it: because I want to protect it.”
Regrettably for the Internet, Mendes and Cabello found their own distinctive way of responding to the critics.
An infamous yet awkward video of the two passionately kissing surfaced on Twitter shortly after people had made disapproving comments about the couple, stating they kissed like fish.
Gratefully, the two took the criticism in stride, and their video response silenced the detractors.
All appeared to be harmonious for the couple during the tumultuous year that was 2020.
The Cabello-Mendes relationship did not make the list of celebrity partings that year, and the two often posted pictures of one another while quarantining in their former shared home.
News of their separation shattered hearts on November 27, 2021.
While many anticipated animosity between the former couple, representatives have said the split was the outcome of their hectic work schedules, especially considering Cabello had ventured into film acting with Amazon Prime’s Cinderella.
