Domino Kirke was named after a hunter named Domino Harvey by her mother. She had an Iraqi-Jewish inheritance as her maternal grandmother was Israeli.

Domino Kirke’s Enthusiasm For Singing

From a very young age, Kirke was fond of music and singing. Domino was trained in singing by her father, Simon Kirke, who happens to be the drummer for Free and Bad Company. He has been a band member in various lineups ever since the band started performing.

Domino began singing in choirs, operas, and plays when she was just nine years old, moving forward to pursue her passion.

Later, she moved to New York City to study classical voice and piano from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School.

After studying classical voice and piano, Domino Kirke started singing karaoke at a joe’s pub. Producer Andres Levin identified her, and he signed up for his label, fun machine, for three years.

Shortly after, she paired up with Jordan Galland and came up with her band with the name of DOMINO, which recorded an EP in collaboration with Mark Ronson and toured for three years with Lily Allen and Gang Four.

Tiny Furniture, an Indian film directed by Lena Dunham, also featured the band.

At the 2006 Da Vinci Film and Video Festival, Galland’s video for their song “Green Umbrella” received Best Musical Form.

Domino, Timo Ellies, and Jorge Elbercht produced the Guard, and it was recorded in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Domino Kirke’s songs include Everyone else is boring EP (2006), Mark Ronson Presents Hard Rock Compilation (2007), Adults only (2010), The Guard EP (2012), and Beyond waves (2017).

Despite the fact that she has been into singing since she was a child, In 2017, Domino Kirke released her debut music album with 11 songs. Under Kirke’s voice, “Beyond Waves” is a bohemian-tinged folk-pop track with dark, resonant guitars and minimalist percussion.

The title track is one of 11 tracks recorded for the singer’s new album, expanding on her 2015 EP Independent Channel’s dreamy synth-folk sound. Kirke’s upcoming album will examine her storytelling through the eyes of a mother with a wealth of personal experiences to share.

Birth Of Her First Child

Domino Kirke was in a relationship with a famous Musician Morgan O’Kane. She met Morgan in 2007, and shortly after their first meeting, they started dating. After dating for a few years, Domino Kirke gave birth to their son, Cassius Riley. He was born on January 28, 2009, and he is around 12 years old as of 2022.

Domino Kirke was in her mid-20s when she welcomed her first child. She disclosed that she was 25 years old when she got pregnant with Cassius Riley in an interview. However, Riley was an infant when the couple got separated in the early 2010s due to differences of opinion.

After parting ways, the youngster lives with his mother, although he is also spotted with his father on his social media. The Musician Morgan often posts pictures of them enjoying hiking, climbing, vacationing around mountains, fishing, etc.

He is of mixed origin and holds citizenship in the United States. Furthermore, he currently resides with his mother Domino and stepfather Penn Badgley.

From Musician to Doula

Kirke was also passionate about being a midwife and a Douala. Apart from her career as a musician, Domino Kirke has a certification as a Douala.

Six months after the birth of her first son, Cassius, in 2009, she became a doula. When she was searching for one for herself at the time, there were not many choices. Eventually, she found someone, but she was a medical assistant than a doula.

In an interview, she stated

I thought to myself, “Wow, having a doula would have been helpful in my birth” – and after doing some research, I realized that the role was crucial in the labor process. We needed more of us, but there weren’t any. So I just felt compelled to leap, and I turned off my music and jumped all the way.

Amy Schumer, who praised Kirke after giving birth in May, is one of her most well-known clientele.

Schumer wrote on Instagram, “What she did was make me and Chris feel utterly secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process.”

Kirke’s enthusiasm for birth education prompted her to start Carriage House, a pregnancy care center in New York and Los Angeles that provides new and expecting moms with information, education, and doula services.

Domino Kirke’s Marriage with Penn Badgeley

In 2014, Domino Kirke met Penn Badgeley. For a while, they kept their connection a secret. Domino was juggling her responsibilities as a single mother and her shaky relationship with Penn. She wasn’t much serious with him and was just going with the flow.

On asking about marriage with Penn, she said

“It all happened quite quickly. I got married, and it was a bit of a whirlwind I wasn’t expecting for the next phase for Penn and I,”

The Kirke-Badgleys had two marriages. The first time was in February 2017, when they exchanged vows in front of a small group of friends and family in an intimate courthouse ceremony in Brooklyn.

In June 2017, they held a larger reception in upstate New York, attended by celebrities such as Debra Messing, Mariska Hargitay, and Zac Posen.

Kirke and Badgley announced they were expecting their first child together in February 2020, following two miscarriages.

She was blessed with a baby boy on September 20, 2020, named James.

She now resides with her husband and two sons, Cassius Riley and James.
