However, his career as an orthopedic surgeon came to an end when he suffered injuries after a bicycle accident in 2011.

While undergoing rehabilitation, he and his wife, Julie, started contemplating their future beyond medicine.

They saw potential in their old barn on their seventy-seven-acre farm called Wyndridge Farm.

In 2014, Steve, Julie, and their son, Taylor, renovated the barn into Wyndridge Farm.

This venue includes a restaurant, brewery, and event center. Their primary goal was to create a space where people could come together to celebrate and enjoy life.

In 2018, Steve utilized his entrepreneurial skills to establish two different businesses: Groff North America and Groff Health.

Steve actively participated in Aldersgate Church, where he and Julie dedicated many years to leading worship before his accident.

More recently, he resumed playing the guitar as a part of the Praise Band.

Steve found joy in recreational activities such as boating, jet skiing, and motorcycle riding.

He is survived by his loving wife Julie, his parents Kenneth and Shirley, his son Taylor S. Groff and daughter-in-law Ashleigh, as well as his daughters Hannah E. Groff and Mackenzie A. Groff.
