Five Individuals were discovered deceased in a residence on Acacia Terrace Buffalo Grove.
The medical examiner’s office stated that three individuals and two children had passed away in the North Buffalo Grove residence on Wednesday evening.
At approximately 11:12 a.m., officers responded to a two-story house in the 2800 block of Acacia Terrace following a request to check on the well-being of a woman.
Following the absence of a response, law enforcement personnel forced entry into the residence and found the five deceased individuals.
Authorities have confirmed that there is no immediate threat to the public.
Law enforcement also clarified that this was an isolated occurrence and that they were not pursuing a suspect.
‘It astonishes me. It’s unexpected, particularly considering that it’s a wonderful area for families and a peaceful community,’ as stated by Michelle, a fellow Buffalo Grove resident.
The Lake County Coroner declared that further details about the victims’ ages, genders, and injuries will be withheld until after the autopsy on Thursday.
‘Keep your family close by. Embrace your loved ones a little tighter. You truly never know what to expect.’ She advised.
The Lake County Major Crime Task Force is assisting with the probe.
Law enforcement had to forcibly enter the property, where they discovered five bodies in what appeared to be an incident of multiple homicides followed by a suicide.
According to neighbors, children were also residing in the residence.
However, as reported by CBS 2’s Vermont Terry on Wednesday evening, the community was still reeling from the unexpected tragedy.
