Frank Vallelonga Jr was identified when his lifeless body was discovered discarded in New York City.

After being thrown out of a car, the 60-year-old actor’s body was found outside a sheet metal fabrication facility in the Bronx on Monday, according to the police. 

Initially presumed unconscious, he was later pronounced dead at the scene. 

His manager, Melissa Prophet, also informed THR about his demise. 

The reason for his passing has not been disclosed, but as per the statement, Steven Smith, a 35-year-old man, has been arrested and charged with concealing a deceased human body.

The NYPD stated in the release that the investigation is still ongoing at this time.

The Police investigation revealed his death as a homicide

Police arrested suspect Steven Smith, 35, a day after the body was found and accused him of eight offenses, including concealing a corpse and possessing a stolen car. 

At 3:50 a.m. local time on Monday, officers were first informed of an unconscious male in the Bronx. 

The man was discovered unconscious and later identified as Vallelonga Jr. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car with New Jersey license plates came to a stop before the body was removed from it and left behind, according to surveillance footage and eyewitness accounts, they claimed. 

Officials found an unconscious and unresponsive male at the scene, declared dead at the location.

‘The male showed no overt evidence of trauma. The individual was pronounced dead at the spot by the arriving EMS,’ police stated, adding that the medical examiner would make a decision regarding the cause of death later.

According to The New York Post, Authorities claimed Vallelonga’s body was dumped near a sheet metal business. 

Police claimed they do not think Smith was involved in Vallelonga Jr’s death, despite being charged with disposing of the body.

Frank Vallelonga Sr, also known as Tony Lip, was the father of Vallelonga Jr, a bodyguard who escorted Black pianist Don Shirley on tour through the deep South in the early 1960s. 

Vallelonga Jr is said to have collaborated with his younger brother, director Nick Vallelonga, who wrote the script for Green Book, before his demise. 

They worked together on the movie, That’s Amore. 

In the 2018 best picture-winning movie, Vallelonga Jr, 60, portrayed his real-life uncle Rudy Vallelonga, and Viggo Mortensen played his father, Tony Lip. 

His most recent work also includes an episode of CBS’s The Neighborhood from 2018 and the crime drama The Birthday Cake, which starred Val Kilmer and Ewan McGregor.

He had an appearance in a Sopranos episode from 2004. 

A Sopranos episode was among the many smaller roles Vallelonga Jr played in other productions. 

Frank was worth $9M before his untimely passing and earned most of his income as an actor.
