Hassani Campbell Missing For Over 13. Is He Dead Or Alive?

The report of Hassani Campbell’s disappearance was filed after he vanished on August 20, 2009. It has been thirteen years, and the child is still not located.

When children disappear at a very young age, it is uncertain whether they will be alive or not. Hassani Campbell’s case is also similar as the child has been absent for 13 years and the authorities are still unable to locate him.

When the report of Hassani Campbell’s absence was recently searched on the internet, people wanted to know about the young boy who, if still living, might be 19 years old.

Let’s discuss who Hassani Campbell is and how he went missing and remains unfound.

Hassani Campbell

Hassani Campbell was a 5-year-old boy who disappeared on August 20, 2009. He was born on September 24, 2003, making him 19.

He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition that causes motor impairments. During Hassani’s disappearance, he might not have been able to run and jump.

In addition to his medical condition, he was able to walk. According to sources, his mother was dealing with substance abuse and health issues, making it impossible for her to care for her child.

In December 2008, Hassani was welcomed by his newly born sister named Aaliyah. They moved to the house of their aunt Jennifer Campbell and her fiancé Louis Ross.

Aaliyah was a year old when her brother, who was five at the time, disappeared. Before he went missing, the couple was fostering Hassani and had plans to adopt him.

According to the state division of children and family services, Hassani’s foster parents had no objection to his family and his biological mother’s background. They assured that they would take good care of his medical needs.

Later, the couple was accused of domestic violence after he was adopted. Jennifer’s fiance Louis reported that he had “misgivings” about raising a disabled child.

When the case was taken to court, it was reported that Louis had once left Hassani at his house alone while he went to the bank.

Another piece of evidence was presented in court, and according to it, on July 31, 2009, Louis sent a threatening text message to his wife.

In the text, he wrote that he would leave Hassani alone on a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) platform. Louis then said that he was angry when he said that and did not have the intention to abandon him.

Hassani Campbell Vanishing

Hassani Campbell vanished on August 20, 2009. It was reported that he was last spotted in Oakland, California, at 4:15 PM.

Louis mentioned that he dropped Hassani and Aaliyah off with Jennifer and left. Louis added that Hassani was standing outside his 2002 BMW, which was parked at a shoe store on the 6000 block of College Avenue.

While Hassani was standing outside his car, Louis took Aaliyah with him to open the store, and when he returned, Hassani was gone.

As Hassani had a medical condition of cerebral palsy, he couldn’t wander far away, so a comprehensive search was carried out around the area, but he was not found.

When the police began their investigation, they couldn’t confirm any credibility to Louis’s statement. According to Louis, the area where Hassani went missing was a busy business district, and people there saw nothing suspicious.

Tracker dogs were also brought to the spot Louis mentioned, and the tracker dogs failed to pick up any scent of Hassani. Nearby residents claimed they hadn’t seen Hassani in the area for two weeks.

Later, the investigation revealed that Hassani was last seen with his family on August 6, 2009, outside Wal-Mart in Fremont.

Louis’s BMW was impounded, and Hassani’s sister, Aaliyah, was taken into police custody. A polygraph test was conducted on Louis, which he failed, while Jennifer declined to take the test due to her pregnancy and the desire to not impact the baby.

The couple was arrested as they were the primary suspects in Hassani Campbell’s vanishing. Louis was to be charged with murder, while Jennifer was to be charged with being an accessory to murder.

However, no evidence indicated that the couple was involved in Hassani’s disappearance, so they were released. Since then, Hassani has not been found, and the police are still investigating to locate the boy who has been missing for 13 years.
