Tyra began homeschooling her child during the Covid-19 outbreak. Previously, she mentioned that she doesn’t necessarily want her child to pursue a career in modeling, but she also stated that she will wholeheartedly support whatever career York chooses.

Erik Alsa, York’s father, is a professional photographer whom Banks met while hosting the Norwegian edition of “Top Model.” They started dating in 2013 but ended their relationship amicably in 2017.
The couple struggled with conception for a considerable period. According to Entertainment Tonight, Banks underwent several in vitro fertilization attempts over the course of a year and a half.
“Yeah, I don’t recall if it was, ‘Am I less than a woman?’” ET learned from Banks. “But I remember thinking, ‘Oh my god, I waited too long, like, why did I do this?’”
Banks was despondent and had lost hope. However, after unsuccessful attempts to conceive, the supermodel decided to explore surrogacy as an option.
Initially hesitant about this decision, she eventually opted for it. “It wasn’t just infertility,” she explained to Scarymommy.
How Tyra Banks Embarks on Parenting Approaches
Tyra Banks is committed to being the best mother she can be. One of the most crucial lessons she aims to impart to her son, York, is the importance of hard work.
“I am a very hardworking momma and hopefully a good example to my son that you know momma works really, really hard and that’s how we have these things, and we can travel and get on airplane, airplane, airplane, to go and see the world,” Banks told E! News.

Tyra always makes an effort to put her phone away when her son, York, wants her to play with him. Previously, York used to throw tantrums when his mother was on the phone.

In an interview with Closer Weekly, Banks referred to her child as “a great science enthusiast.” This indicates York’s fondness for Science. Hopefully, we will see him evolve into a brilliant scientist one day!
It took Banks some time to come to terms with this reality, and even then, only her mother and a handful of friends were privy to her circumstances and the immense pressure she was under.
