The father of a student at the University of Idaho, whose child was previously killed this month, has stated that his daughter did not suffer in her final moments.
During an interview on Good Morning America Tuesday, Steve Goncalves recalled how he was informed about his daughter Kaylee’s demise by relatives on campus. He became emotional as he described how she came home from school in an urn.
On Tuesday, Steve mentioned that the process was swift, and nobody felt any pain.
“She was here, and then she was gone,” he said. “It didn’t even seem real.”
The family is struggling to comprehend why this occurred. “I’m going to be honest, I don’t think my daughter suffered pain,” Steve expressed.
Goncalves remained quiet when asked how he discovered Kaylee had not endured any suffering. Investigators had stated that the students had “defensive wounds,” indicating they had fought back against their attackers.

On the morning of November 13, a friend contacted 911 to report an “unconscious person” in the house where Kaylee, 21, her closest friend Madison Mogen, also 21, and young couple Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin, both 20, were found murdered by stabbing.
The call supposedly occurred after Kaylee and Madison’s friends repeatedly called and texted their phone numbers but couldn’t contact them.
Police said the two girls were still asleep when the unidentified offender stabbed them with a knife while they were still in their beds on the top level of the house.
Tuesday’s interview with Steve was the second time the distraught father has expressed his anger over the drawn-out inquiry into the death of his daughter.
At a disastrous press conference held the same night, local authorities admitted they had no suspects in the deaths of her and her friends and had not yet found a murder weapon.
He had revealed to FOX News’ Lawrence Jones over the weekend that he had not heard from law enforcement since Wednesday at 5 pm.
Steve reported to the detectives: “They’re kind of just saying that they can’t tell me much, which is irritating to me because I’ve been really trustworthy.” He added: “I do know things, I haven’t disclosed stuff.”
He claimed he did not want to criticize law enforcement as they are “hardworking individuals” and that, without them, he would be “doomed.”
