The statement was published on Instagram by Kaylee Goncalves, together with photographs of herself with her friends Ethan Chapin, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20.
Goncalves commented, “Fortunate to be surrounded by these individuals.”
The 21-year-old was found deceased on Sunday alongside Chapin, Mogen, and Kernodle in a dwelling off of campus shortly after sharing the photo.
As per CBS News, Goncalves had previously posted numerous images of her and Mogen as children.
In all her childhood tales, she expressed, “I wouldn’t have chosen anyone else to be the leading character.”

Alivea Goncalves, the eldest sister, delivered a heartfelt eulogy on the family’s loss.
The family conveyed, in part, to KREM2, “Kaylee was, is, and will always be our defender and protector.”
“She achieved what she set out to do. She was not hesitant to pursue love, conflict, or life.” She went on, “Kaylee was the quintessential thrill-seeker and a go-getter.“
As per Alivea, each of her five siblings plays a unique role in the household. Kaylee served as the “champion of fairness” as the middle child.
According to Alivea, there was little that anyone could tell Kaylee she couldn’t do, characterizing her sister as a perpetual seeker of adventure and a life enthusiast.
She revealed that she had messaged Kaylee on Friday, as per KREM2.
According to the publication, their mother, Kristi, confessed to feeling like she had lost two daughters upon hearing the devastating news of Kaylee’s and a close family friend, Mogen’s, passing.
