Meet Alix Bailey – Louis CK’s Ex-Wife And Accomplished Painter

Louis CK’s Former Spouse Alix Bailey is an accomplished American artist who gained fame after tying the knot with the celebrated stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and filmmaker. 

Alix was born in Washington, D.C. in February 1967, and brought up in New Haven, Connecticut, and Italy. Both of her parents were artists, which deeply influenced her own passion for the field. 

She pursued her studies in painting at Bennington College and later completed a Master’s Degree in Fine Arts from Indiana University, where she trained alongside notable artists such as Sidney Tillim and Pat Adams. 

She is currently a member of the non-profit art gallery, The Painting Center, situated in New York City. Her work has been showcased in various galleries and exhibitions in New York, Italy, and Connecticut.

Aside from painting, Alix has also explored acting, with appearances in films such as Tomorrow Night, Searching for Nixon, Spooky Steakout, and Pootie Tang. 

She crossed paths with Louis CK for the first time at a New Year’s Eve celebration in Boston when they were both 18 years old, and he proposed to her five minutes after meeting her. They reconnected 15 years later and started dating, eventually tying the knot in 1995. 

They have two daughters, Kitty Szekely and Mary Louise Szekely. Louis CK has secured numerous Grammy Awards and is widely regarded as one of the finest stand-up comedians of all time.

After being married for 13 years, Alix Bailey and Louis CK chose to terminate their marriage. They recognized their inability to bring joy to each other and underwent counseling for a year without success. 

Alix currently resides in Greenwich Village, Manhattan with her daughters, where she continues to pursue her career as an artist. 

Louis and Alix have joint custody of their daughters. Louis has since married actress Pamela Adlon, while Alix has opted to remain single and concentrate on her art and raising her children.

She began her career as a child actress and voice actress, with significant roles such as the voice of Bobby Hill on the animated series “King of the Hill.” 

Adlon has received critical acclaim for her work on “Better Things,” earning multiple Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination for her role as the lead character, Sam Fox. 

She has also worked as a voice actress on several animated series such as “The Rugrats” and “Californication“. She is also known for her voiceover work in films such as Grease 2 and The Smurfs.
