Who is Jovit Baldvinio?

Jovit Baldvinio was an actor and vocalist who was born in Batangas to an underprivileged family. To provide for his family, he would vend siomai at a local market after his classes.

This also aided him in funding his education. He was determined to complete his studies and uplift his family from poverty, so he auditioned for the inaugural season of Pilipinas Got Talent.

Ultimately, Jovit clinched a $2 million prize at the culmination of the first season, and this spurred his realization of his aspirations. He pursued Criminology at Batangas State University.

In a similar vein to his uncle, he aspired to pursue a career in law. In October 2020, Jovit’s top charting songs, “Pusong Bato” and “Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin,” were making waves on the internet.

Subsequently, his songs were given K-pop renditions by TWICE, Red Velvet, BTS, and Blackpink. He uploaded a reimagined version of Justin Bieber’s track “Baby.” He fused Bieber’s song with his own track, “Ika’y Mahal Pa Rin.”

Baldvinio’s tracks garnered numerous views as Filipino netizens were captivated by his reworked songs. Some remixes were described as comical by his supporters due to the way they were amalgamated.

He was conferred the title of Promising Singer/Performer at the 2011 GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards.

Apart from his appearance on the inaugural season of the Pilipinas Got Talent television series, he made appearances in various other TV programs, including 1DOL, Family Feud, We Love OPM, Juan dela Cruz, ASAP, and Growing Up.

On December 4, 2022, he underwent surgery for a minor hemorrhagic stroke. On December 9, 2022, it was announced that he succumbed to a brain aneurysm.

He was pronounced dead at Jesus of Nazareth Hospital in Batangas City.
