The disc jockey from The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, passed away, as reported by his spouse, in an incident that the media in Los Angeles suspected to be a possible suicide.
The DJ and dancer were reportedly found on Tuesday in a hotel in the city with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, as stated by the entertainment website TMZ.
Stephen “tWitch” Boss showcased himself as a natural performer from his earliest days as a budding dancer, “illuminating every room he entered” with his infectious energy and enthusiastic excitement – which ultimately propelled him into the glittering lights of Hollywood success.
Because of their continuous screaming on the Ellen Show over the years, his magnetic disposition and passion for movement earned him the nickname that would eventually become synonymous with his prominent persona.
The unexpected and shocking suicide of tWitch at the age of 40 this week brought an abrupt halt to what had been a swift ascent up the famously unpredictable celebrity ladder.
The Montgomery, Alabama native, who gained fame on social media, burst onto the scene with the same vigor he brought to his dancing, which had been his passion since childhood, entertaining his family members.
These early talents initially only laid the groundwork for a comical moniker. However, it later became the foundation for a remarkable career that encompassed talk shows, reality television, and social media stardom.
tWitch Was Part of a Devoted Family
Stephen tWitch was a member of a devout family and followed the Christian faith.
The dancer later affirmed that he was “brought up in a Christian environment” and that his Alabaman roots played a significant role in helping him stay grounded after attaining fame.
Regarding his home state, he previously expressed, “I’m really proud to come from there,” and added, “Its history runs very deep.”
Prior to relocating to Los Angeles to advance his career, the Alabama native studied dance at Chapman University and Southern Union State Community College.
His fascination with the dance style known as “popping,” characterized by a series of abrupt movements that his peers likened to someone “twitching,” is how he initially acquired the nickname “tWitch” during his teenage years.
He stated, “I was always in motion and constantly moving,” and further added, “I don’t mind it at all. It has blended with my identity and has become a part of who I am.”
Shortly after that, people in his circle began calling him tWitch. He mentioned that the nickname held special meaning to him because he had previously used it to refer to his Toyota Paseo car.
He mentioned, “A lot of my dance knowledge and thinking happened in that car.”
He made his reality television debut in 2003 when he participated in MTV’s The Wade Robson Project, finishing in third place.
Afterward, he entered Star Search and secured the second position.
