The Story of David Carter Sr (Explained)

This piece will explore the account of David Carter Sr., Who he was, What he accomplished and What transpired to him in detailed perspective.

Relatives were understandably worried when a devoted father ceased to appear for work. Nevertheless, in the days that followed, their greatest fears were realized. ‘Unsolved Mysteries: Body in Bags’ on Netflix focuses on the circumstances surrounding the murder of David Carter in Melvindale, Michigan, and the investigation into how the perpetrator allegedly vanished after the crime.

Who Was David Carter?

On October 1, 2018, the remains of 39-year-old father David Carter Sr., who resided in Melvindale, Michigan, was found to be dismembered.

Carter, who volunteered for the Melvindale Junior Football League and worked at the Magna Seating Plant, was reported missing in the first week of October 2018 after he didn’t show up for work for three days.

On September 28, Carter, his family, and DJ’s mother, Samia Conner, attended DJ’s football game. Tamera ‘Tammy’ Williams, a medical centre employee and travel agent, was also present. However, according to Conner, “David and Tammy arrived at the game together but weren’t together at the game.”

What Occurred to David Carter?

As per the Netflix documentary, Carter’s son DJ visited his father’s house on September 30 to collect a few things after his mother, Samia Conner, purportedly received a text from Carter’s phone stating that he was feeling under the weather.

Upon DJ’s arrival at his father’s residence, he purportedly witnessed Carter’s girlfriend Tammy disposing of the trash.

DJ said, “She hurried to the apartment door — like ran.” “And the door was locked upon my arrival at my dad’s place. She should have left it open since she saw me, but I had the key.

Williams allegedly informed the teenager that Carter had gone for a stroll before closing the bathroom door and telling DJ that his bedroom door was shut.

When Carter didn’t show up for work on September 30, a colleague asked his sister, Tasia Carter-Jackson, to check on him on October 2.

Reportedly, upon her visit to his abode, she found his front door unlocked and his bed unmade. She claimed the mattress, which also had a gunshot hole, had a substantial bloodstain on top and underneath it.

Carter’s lower body and legs were found in a sleeping bag in weeds along a highway in Eagle Township, Ohio, on October 1.

Carter’s head was discovered in a black duffel bag nine days later with a gunshot wound under his ear, and his upper torso and hands were found in a suitcase on October 16.

How Perished David Carter?

A jolly and honorable man, David D. Carter, Sr. was commended for being an exceptional father to his teenage son, DJ, whom he had with Samia Conner. David and his father, Elton Carter, shared a similar closeness.

He owned a clothing store and worked at the Magna Seating Plant in Highland Park, Michigan.

The 39-year-old, who volunteered for the Melvindale Junior Football League, was close to his family. Tamera “Tammy” Williams and David had been dating for roughly six months at the time of the incident.

David missed work for three days at some point in the first week of October 2018. This alarmed the family, particularly his sister, Tasia Carter-Jackson, who hurried to his home.

There, they found two unusual things concerning David: the door was unlocked and the bed was unmade. He wasn’t there, but the mattress and bedroom carpet had bloodstains.

On October 1, 2018, a Department of Transportation worker discovered a sleeping bag in weeds alongside an expressway in Eagle Township, Ohio. David’s legs and lower torso were inside the bag.

In the ensuing days, the authorities discovered the remainder of his remains on the same route. As per the program, David’s head was found in a black duffel bag on October 10, 2018.

On October 16, his upper body and hands were ultimately ascertained inside a bag. David had received a close-range shot to the area behind his ear, with the bullet exiting through the top of his skull.

Tammy Williams Is Evading the Law

Body in Bags, an episode of Unsolved Mysteries, revolves around the question of whether Tammy, Carter’s girlfriend, was responsible for his demise.

According to Fox2, Williams is wanted by the US Department of Justice for “mutilation, dismemberment of a dead body, tampering with evidence, and felony firearm”

Reports suggest that Williams is the target of a $10,000 US Marshals reward for information. In September 2021, the police stated they believed Williams’s relatives may have aided her in evading arrest.

Andrew Battersby of the US Marshals Task Force in Detroit, who was interviewed for the video, stated, “Someone is assisting her, both financially and by providing her with accommodation. She simply did not vanish.

“She’s a dangerous woman,” he continued, “the weapon used has not been recovered.” He concluded that she may be “armed and dangerous.”

Williams, a hospital travel agent, was apprehended on October 5, 2018, subsequent to the discovery of Carter’s body and was subsequently released due to insufficient evidence to hold her.

After leaving Detroit in mid-October, prompting a search by the police, she is now on the run. In September 2021, Aaron Garcia, Supervisory Deputy US Marshal at Fox2, stated, “We’ll catch you.

We’ve been investigating this case for three years, but collaboration is still necessary. People know her whereabouts and how to contact her but no one has come forward.

Whereabouts of Tammy Williams

The current location of Tammy Williams is unknown, as mentioned in Unsolved Mysteries.

Shortly after being released from custody, Williams left Michigan without leaving any clues.

According to Andrew Battersby of the US Marshals Task Force, Williams was reportedly seen in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on October 16, 2018. She was spotted using an ATM to withdraw cash and dining at a restaurant.

She is then believed to have boarded trains bound for Chicago and New York City’s Penn Station.

There is evidence indicating that she checked into the Neptune Hotel and stayed there for one night. On October 18, Williams was seen leaving the hotel; she hasn’t been seen since then.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, investigators suspected that Williams’ family had assisted her in escaping by providing her with money in September 2021.

Her mother was accused of embezzling over $200,000 while serving as the treasurer of the Detroit Firefighters Association.

She may be disguising herself with wigs or having short braids. She has a large rose tattoo on her left shoulder that extends from the elbow up to the shoulder, which is the only distinct feature about her. This rose bundle will be unmistakable, as per The Radio Times.
