TikTok Star Cooper Noriega Died Due To Drug Overdose

Recently, the demise of TikTok influencer Cooper Noriega was confirmed by his family, stating that he was 19 years old at the time of his passing. His lifeless body was found in a Los Angeles parking lot in June.

Following his death, a medical examiner conducted necessary tests to determine the cause of his demise.

A comprehensive toxicology test was carried out to identify any presence of drugs in his system.

Subsequently, authorities issued a declaration revealing that Noriega’s demise was a result of a drug overdose.

He succumbed to the “combined effects” of alprazolam, a medication commonly known as Xanax, fentanyl, and lorazepam, prescribed to patients grappling with sleep disorders and anxiety.

The Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner confirmed this information to NBC News on Tuesday.

During the examination, traces of “clonazepam” were discovered. This medication, also known as Klonopin, is prescribed for individuals enduring severe anxiety issues.

As per local authorities, his demise was confirmed to be accidental, occurring in the parking lot as attested by the medical examiner.

Hours before his passing, a TikTok video was uploaded with the caption, “who else b thinking they gon d!€ young af”. The video was later removed.

Upon investigation, it was revealed that Noriega had amassed more than 3.2 million followers. He had been candid about his substance abuse and mental challenges on social media.

Noriega had informed his supporters about his intention to initiate a Discord server to engage in discussions about his mental health concerns.

He encouraged others to join the server and provide support through the messaging platform.

In an Instagram post regarding his Discord server, Noriega shared, “I’ve been struggling with addiction since I was 9 years old, you may think that’s crazy, but that’s the life i’ve been dealt”.

He further added, “I would like to use the influence I’ve been given to create a space built on spreading awareness and normalizing talking about mental illness”.
