What Does a Harvard Graduate Claira Janover Say About Her Controversial Video?

In May, Claira Janover graduated from Harvard with a degree in government and psychology. She gained widespread attention after posting a TikTok video in which she stated that she would “stab” anyone who expressed “All Lives Matter”. Subsequently, she revealed in a series of new videos that she has been terminated from her job due to the perceived threats and ensuing backlash.

By speaking out in support of Black Lives Matter, I found myself in a position where millions of people could see me,” a teary Claira Janover expressed in a new video shared on Wednesday afternoon. “The job that I had worked incredibly hard to obtain and that meant a great deal to me has been terminated because of this.”

In the original video, Janover made a threat towards ‘All Lives Matter supporters, which ultimately led to her dismissal from Deloitte. Janover announced that she was fired on Wednesday, July 1st.

Janover’s LinkedIn profile identifies her as an “incoming government and public business service analyst” at Deloitte, a UK-based accounting firm.

Claira Janover has not shied away from addressing her initial statement and the impact it made on her career. In fact, she has continued to utilize her TikTok account to produce videos addressing the controversy.

Claira Janover On TikTok

On Wednesday, July 1st, Janover took to TikTok to clarify the situation in a series of videos, explaining why she had become the target of ‘Trump Twitter’.

In one of these videos, Janover stated that the video was “a satirical joke that Trump Twitter mistook for reality”

In another video, Janover said: “It was hyperbole and political satire, and actually a well-crafted TikTok. But some people mistakenly believed that I was genuinely threatening them. And now we have Trump Twitter and my name trending with messages like this [displays hate messages] and reporting me to the FBI.”

At the time of writing, Janover has amassed over 163,000 followers and 5.9 million likes.

During the video, Janover pointed to what appears to be a company web page and noted that she was dismissed “even though they profess to stand against systemic bias, racism, and unequal treatment.”

Janover, who insisted that the message was an analogy rather than a genuine threat, has since deleted that video. She revealed that she has since received a flood of threats against her life and safety.

In her new videos, she accused President Trump’s supporters of being responsible for her job loss.

Trump supporters took away my job,” she declared in another recent video. “I have received death threats, rape threats, violent threats. It was okay, but now my future is completely jeopardized because Trump supporters have chosen to target my life.”

Amid tears, defiant Janover pledged not to back down.

I’m too resilient for you. I’m too resilient for any of you ‘All Lives Matter,’ racially prejudiced Trump supporters,” she remarked. “It’s unfortunate. But it’s not as unfortunate as systemic racism. And I will not cease using my platform to advocate for it.”

I apologize, Deloitte, that you can’t recognize that,” she asserted. “That you were cowardly enough to oppose somebody who is going to make an indelible change in the world and will have an impact.”

Deloitte did not immediately respond to multiple requests for comment.
