Who Is Pastor Greg Locke’s Wife? Where Is She Now?

The spouse of Reverend Greg Locke was Melissa. Nevertheless, the couple went their separate ways due to irreconcilable differences.

Following her 2018 divorce from Reverend Greg, Melissa Locke’s life has garnered significant attention and conjecture.

While much of the attention has been on her former husband due to his prominence as a pastor and controversial statements, it is largely unknown how she has progressed in her life.

She was one of the prominent individuals at Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, prior to their dissolution and had gone through two decades of marriage before their separation.

It will undoubtedly be intriguing to observe whether Reverend Locke’s former church member ever speaks publicly about this major upheaval in her life and what lies ahead for Melissa Locke.

Melisssa’s ex-husband initiates litigation against the church

Reverend Greg Locke of the Global Vision Bible Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, is resolute in contesting a lawsuit brought against him last Thursday by Tom Brashear of the Wilson County Development Services.

Asserting that the church overlooked the necessary permits for construction and stormwater and complaints over noise problems, Reverend Locke rejected these allegations as groundless and stated they were “faulty findings, misrepresentation, and just plain speculation”.

Expressing his disapproval in comments provided to The Christian Post on Monday, Locke assured that he will undertake whatever is necessary to ensure the court acknowledges this spurious legal action, safeguarding both his church and its members from further injustice.

Attempting to find a resolution to their disputes regarding property zoning, Locke and his church are grappling with the lawsuit filed by a nearby couple.

They believe the noise from Global Vision’s worship services is too disruptive for their community, leading them to file with the state government for action.

In response, Global Vision has proposed alternatives for resolving these issues in order to protect both parties.

The state has requested the removal of all buildings from the property and an injunction that prevents any future development on the area without full compliance with local regulations.

Now it’s up to Locke and his church to devise a solution in court that satisfies both parties.

Everything you need to know about Melissa

Melissa Locke was born Melissa Kay Biggers on 24 April 1971, making her 51 years old as of 2022.

Originating from Richmond, Virginia, she is the daughter of Anelia Kay Biggers and Ronald Everett Biggers, who served as a former school administrator for several Christian schools from Tennessee to South Carolina.

Furthermore, he pastored churches in various states and eventually worked at the Grace Baptist Church in Chattanooga and with Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Unfortunately, her father passed away on 1 June 2022 at the age of 77.

In addition, her eldest sibling Miriam Elizabeth Morrow died in 2021, leaving three other sisters – Stephanie (John) Davis and Melanie Ollanketo – to commemorate their father’s legacy and Melissa’s beloved sister.

Melissa had an uncommon childhood, having been raised in a family that followed Christianity closely since her father was a pastor and administrator of Christian institutions.

Despite this, relatively little is known about how she spent her formative years.

Nevertheless, Melissa has had a successful professional life, and when she was 18, she decided to pursue an occupation where she could care for the residents at The Good Shepherd Children’s Home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Later, Melissa supported her spouse Greg Locke, accompanying him as he opened his esteemed Greg Locke Ministries in Arkansas in 1996.

While information surrounding the other ventures she has taken part in remains uncertain, it is evident that Melissa indeed crafted for herself a notable career path.

Why did Melissa & Greg part ways?

Melissa Locke is no stranger to marriage, having been in one union that ended in divorce.

Her former husband, Greg Locke was born on 18 May 1976 in Nashville, Tennessee and has become a well-known American Baptist pastor due to founding the Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, Tennessee.

He also achieved widespread notoriety for posting a viral video on Facebook, which criticized Target for their change in bathroom policy that allowed customers to choose restrooms and fitting rooms according to their gender identity.

Melissa Locke is the proud mother of Hudson Taylor Locke, Evan Locke, Malachi Locke, and Destiny Locke.

Melissa and Greg Locke are heartwarming exemplars of how love can conquer all obstacles.

They encountered each other in the early 1990s at the Good Shepherd Children’s Home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, when Greg was arrested multiple times and compelled to serve time there.

Melissa, who was a staff member at the facility, displayed compassion and guidance that gradually converted him to Christianity in 1992.

Then, three years later in 1995, Greg proposed to Melissa, and the couple became husband and wife in 1996.

They went on to have four lovely children – Hudson Taylor (2004), Evan (2006), Malachi (2007), and Destiny (2012) – solidifying their profound connection and partnership both as spouses and parents.

The marriage of Melissa and Greg Locke was thought to be an unshakeable union, but unfortunately, all unions eventually came to an end, and the Lockes were no exception.

In 2017, their relationship began experiencing turbulent times before finally reaching its demise in January 2018.

After news of their separation spread, rumors about the cause of the divorce began circulating, with many suggesting that adultery might have been the culprit.

However, Greg quickly refuted these claims, clarifying that it had been Melissa who had left him and initiated the divorce proceedings.

The couple finalized the divorce in May 2018, officially ending a marriage that had otherwise spanned 23 years.

Where can Melissa Locke be found currently?

Following the public declaration of Melissa and Greg Locke’s divorce in May 2018, reports emerged speculating about Melissa’s mental health struggles.

The speculation was confirmed in February 2018 when Greg Locke disclosed that Melissa had been residing in a shelter in Georgia and receiving assistance from various treatment facilities.

Although he remained vague on any further details, it is known that their split was caused by a long battle with genuine mental and emotional agony.

Since then, there has been no word from Melissa or anyone else about her health status.

Locke’s net worth

Departing from a life of stability and support to stand on her own two feet was an incredibly challenging journey for Melissa.

Despite the generous offer of receiving monetary assistance from her divorce settlement, properly determining her income streams remained elusive.

What she received in 2017 – $1,000 and then $500 every month for 24 months – never proved enough time or money to allow her to secure some form of financial sustainability.

Despite actively searching for other sources of income since she dissolved the marriage agreement six years ago, Melissa’s net worth remains virtually unknown to this day.
