Why Sophie Turner Lashed Out At The Press After Photos Of Daughter Willa Jonas Went Viral

Willa Jonas, the offspring of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, is the third member of the most recent Jonas lineage.

Turner gave birth to their daughter in July 2020, after keeping most of the pregnancy private from fans and the media.

Subsequently, the couple has spoken out about life with Willa, and she has been captured out and about with her parents.

The Arrival of Willa Jonas

Joe Jonas initiated contact with the Game of Thrones star in 2016, and the rest is history.

After ensuring she was not being deceived, Turner says she was immediately captivated by the singer and accompanied him on tour that year.

Despite her growing affection for her now-husband, Turner has been outspoken about her disdain for the band that propelled him to fame.

“My friends and I were not Jonas Brothers fans,” Turner said of her youth in England. “There was this band in the UK called Busted. They had a hit called ‘Year 3000.’ It was amazing, and we were huge Busted fans. Then the Jonas Brothers covered the song and made it massive. And Busted broke up. We thought it was all the Jonas Brothers’ fault. So, we disliked them.”

In an interview with Marie Claire, Turner revealed feeling uneasy about discussing her relationship publicly, stating:

“It’s frustrating [that] it’s the most mundane things that make the news – how boring! There are really no other headlines?”

After nearly a year of keeping the relationship as private as possible, both Turner and Jona announced their engagement on Instagram, sharing photos of the pear-shaped diamond engagement ring.

After a quick Las Vegas wedding and official ceremony in France, Turner and Jonas were formally married in 2019.

Turner’s pregnancy was revealed in February 2020, and Willa Jonas was introduced to the world in July 2020.

Neither one of her parents announced Willa’s birth themselves, instead opting to release a statement:

“Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are delighted to announce the birth of their baby,” a representative told Us Weekly on July 27, 2020.

Willa Jonas and Her Parents

In May 2021, Jonas talked about life with his daughter in an interview on CBS This Morning.

“It’s been forced time at home — I’m always on the go, I’m always moving and traveling and touring. To be in one place for a solid amount of time and having my feet on the ground and be with my family, my immediate family, is time I don’t think I’ll get back,” the ‘Sucker’ singer said. “I’m so thankful and grateful.”

Turner, famously private about her domestic life, expressed her admiration for Willa in a now-expired Instagram story around the same time.

“Im so grateful to the two loves of my life for making me a mama. @JoeJonas and my beautiful baby girl. Its my favourite job I’ve ever had,” she wrote.

Even though the two refuse to share photos of their daughter, Turner had regularly shared pictures from her pregnancy, reminiscing about the time before she got to meet and love Willa.

Willa Turns One

Willa Jonas celebrated her first birthday in style in July 2021, and although no one shared any details, it is safe to assume that the now one-year-old had a first birthday nobody could imagine having.

Jonas also shared a covert photo of a customized locket with his daughter’s name engraved on it, a memento of Willa whenever he is away on tour.

In May 2021, Turner publicly condemned paparazzi taking photos of Willa without consent, addressing leaked photos of her daughter on Instagram:

“I guess yesterday some paparazzi managed to get a picture of my daughter and I and I just want to say that the reason that I am not posting pictures of my daughter and making sure that we can avoid paparazzi at all costs is because I explicitly do not want those photos out there,” she angrily declared.

“She is my daughter. She did not ask for this life, to be photographed,” Turner continued.“It’s f*****g creepy that grown old men taking pictures of a baby without their permission. I’m sickened, I’m disgusted, and I’m respectfully asking everyone to stop following us around and stop trying to take pictures of our daughter and especially printing them.”
