According to Police Chief Wayne Wegener Jr., the Mendota heights police department received a welfare check call on Monday at 1:13 p.m.
Officer Wayne mentioned that the police went to check Adam’s home, and upon entering, they found him deceased. He further stated that his office is “not investigating this as a suspicious death.”

Following his passing, the Vikings’ ownership issued a statement, “We are heartbroken to hear about the passing of Adam Zimmer. Adam was a kind, respectful man, and over his years in Minnesota, it was evident he cared tremendously about his family, his players, his fellow coaches, and the Vikings front office staff. Our thoughts are with Mike, Corri, Marki, and the entire Zimmer family.”
Kirk Cousins, a member of the Vikings quarterback, shared a statement on social media expressing that he was “deeply saddened” upon hearing about Adam’s passing and referred to him as a “tremendous coach & person.”
Rick Spielman, former general manager for the Vikings, expressed, “My thoughts and prayers go out to Coach Zimmer and his family. Adam was a very good coach and a wonderful person. He will be truly missed.”
After Adam’s passing, Bengals president Mike Brown released a statement, expressing how fortunate they were to have Adam. Both Mike and Adam were held in high regard.

Adam was the son of Mike Zimmer, the former Minnesota Vikings coach and NFL assistant coach for 17 seasons. Unfortunately, he passed away on 31 October 2022 at 38.
During his upbringing, he witnessed his father’s tenure with the Vikings, and he followed in his father’s footsteps.
In 2014, he joined the Vikings as a member of the coaching staff, while his father was promoted to head coach at that time.
From 2014 to 2020, he served as linebackers coach for six seasons.
