Steve Harvey is sharing his thoughts on his daughter Lori Harvey’s relationship with Michael B. Jordan.
While appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show on January 18, Harvey confessed to feeling uneasy looking at a snapshot of his daughter getting cozy with the actor.
He expressed his discomfort when asked to view a photo of his daughter sitting on Jordan’s lap in a steamy PDA-filled photo.
Harvey responded, saying, “I’m very uneasy with that image right there, I’m not really feeling that picture.”
The Family Feud host behaved as any father would but took the time to mention his respect for the actor, calling Jordan a “really good guy.”
While Jordan might be attempting to impress the family, Harvey admits he is cautious of the man his daughter has fallen for, adding:
“At the same time, I got my eye on him, I can’t whoop him but if he ever turns around, I’m going to knock his butt out.”
About Steve Harvey’s Daughter
In 2007, Steve Harvey married Marjorie Bridges, a woman he had previously been associated with in the early 1990s.
Following their marriage, Harvey opted to adopt his wife’s three children, Lori, Morgan, and Jason. It is not known who Lori’s biological father is.
Lori was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and relocated to Atlanta after becoming part of the Harvey family.
She began her early life as a competitive equestrian, aspiring to compete as an Olympian in the future.
Lori’s dreams of being an equestrian were quickly shattered after an injury prevented her from continuing to compete.
Regarding her large and famous family, Lori told Vogue:
“My parents did a good job of keeping us out of the spotlight and letting us have a normal childhood so we could be kids and not live life under a microscope, they let us decide if we wanted to be in the industry.”
After the untimely end of her sporting career, Lori redirected her focus towards the world of high fashion.
At just 13, she became intrigued by the intricacies of working with makeup, often observing her mother getting ready and posing multiple questions to the makeup artist.
Lori then expressed she would “go in [her] bathroom and attempt to recreate those looks.”
Her growing affection for the industry began to shape her future, and in 2015 Lori signed two major modeling contracts – one with LA Model Management in the United States and with Select Model Management in Europe.

Despite being only 5 feet and 3 inches tall, Lori proved she was more than just Steve Harvey’s daughter.
Through sheer determination, she defied the odds and graced her first runway for Dolce & Gabbana in 2017.
She has also been featured in campaigns for Michael Kors, Burberry, and Pat McGrath’s Beauty Lab.
McGrath referred to Lori Harvey as “an evident muse” in the Vogue profile, adding that she is “a true beauty who exuded effortless glamor and possesses such a rare energy.”
Following her societal debut in Paris’ Le Bal, Lori ensured she was seen at some of Los Angeles’ most significant social events, flaunting her modeling connections.
Lori has been captured in the latest styles and trends at New York Fashion Week, the Cannes Film Festival, and the infamous Met Gala.
Just last year, Harvey launched her own skincare line, SKN by LH.
Wishing to create products that would prevent other skincare enthusiasts from encountering common issues, Harvey was inspired by how her skin had reacted to years of rapid makeup changes on shoots and behind the scenes at runway shows.
“I have rosacea and would struggle to find the right products to use,” she disclosed to Vogue.
“Then I got into modeling, and between shoots and backstage at runway shows you have so much makeup being put on your face. My skin was constantly undergoing it. So after using, like, 20 different products on my face at one time, I felt like there had to be a simpler way for me to get my skin looking the way I wanted it to.”
At the core of the brand is the need to target specific skin issues, with the products designed to work in combinations that combat common skin problems.
Relationship with Michael B. Jordan
Lori had been involved in a series of high-profile romances before the world discovered that she and Michael B. Jordan were romantically linked.
She had previously dated Future, Trey Songz, Justin Combs (and controversially, his father P. Diddy), and was once briefly engaged to Dutch soccer player Memphis Depay.
Despite Steve Harvey’s concerns, it seems that Lori and Jordan are a stable couple.
After igniting romance rumors in November 2020, the Creed star confirmed the relationship via Instagram, sharing photos of the couple celebrating Lori’s 24th birthday.
The pair have kept much of the relationship under wraps, opting to safeguard their privacy as much as possible.
“I think we’re both very private people naturally. So we just decide, if we take a picture or whatever it is, do you want to post this? Do we not? We have a conversation about it, like, ‘You want to post this or we keep this to ourselves?’” Lori told Bustle.
She discussed the nature of fans wanting to know every intimate detail of the relationship, saying:
“We know there are people that love and support us and want to see us, so [we want to] give just enough, but keep the majority of it just for us. We’re trying to find a balance.”
Beneath the protective father that is Steve Harvey is a man praying for his daughter’s happiness.
On his part, Steve is happy for his daughter, acknowledging Jordan’s sincerity and his willingness to be completely honest with the Harvey family.
Speaking about the first time he met the actor, Steve stated:
“It threw me off at first, because he was so kind. You know, I figure, ‘OK, this is the game right?’ But it wasn’t, man, this dude was sincere and he’s proven to be a really, really good, good guy.”
