A recently released Dylan Molina video depicts the events leading up to a tragic car accident in Lake Worth, Texas, which resulted in the death of Euless police detective Alex Cervantes and severe injuries to his widow and two children.

The video reveals that Dylan Molina, who was accountable for the accident, had consumed eight double vodka cocktails in under three hours at a Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Lake Worth. His blood alcohol content was twice the legal limit.

Molina pleaded guilty to intoxication, manslaughter, and three counts of intoxication assault. As part of his plea, he was sentenced to 15 years for intoxication manslaughter and ten years for each intoxication assault charge.

However, now 26-year-old bartender Cala Richardson has been charged with overserving Molina. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission forbids the sale of alcohol to a drunk person.

Richardson, who bartended at Fuzzy’s when Molina was there, is charged with one count of sale to certain persons, a class A misdemeanor that can carry up to 1 year in jail and a $4,000 fine.

No other arrests are expected in this case, but TABC’s administrative investigation is ongoing. Authorities in Lake Worth obtained a security video from Fuzzy’s while constructing their case against Molina.

The footage shows Molina exiting a door behind the bar that investigators report was restricted to employees only.

He can be observed walking behind the bar when Richardson notices him. She gestures for him to come around the bar and return to his seat. While complying, Molina is seen stumbling onto a stool behind the bar.

Richardson assists Molina to his feet and goes back to the other side of the bar while Richardson vanishes through the door behind the bar. Molina then abandons his drink on the bar and walks to his car. Minutes later, he crashes into the Cervantes family.

After leaving the bar, Richardson returns to find Molina gone.

She looks into the parking lot and then retrieves his drink from the bar. “He couldn’t stand up, he was behind the bar, he was in places he shouldn’t have been,” Lake Worth Police Chief J.T. Manoushagian said.

Manoushagian informed WFAA that Richardson should have taken further action upon witnessing Molina in his state. “The signs that he displayed should have been an indicator that he was not safe to walk away from that building,” Manoushagian said. “This is a stark reminder of what can happen when we ignore those signs.”

When she was questioned by the police, Richardson stated that she didn’t realize Molina might be drunk until he was behind the bar and stumbling just seconds before he left.

It is apparent from the video that the bartender disregarded warning signs that should have prevented Molina from driving.
