On November 9th, subsequent to her demise, a statement was released on her official account “With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, we regretfully inform you of the passing of singer Gal Costa this morning, November 9th, in São Paulo. Further details regarding her funeral will be communicated at a later date. We are grateful for everyone’s comforting thoughts during this exceptionally challenging time.”

Nevertheless, the cause of death was not disclosed by Costa’s family on any social media platform or news channel, perhaps her family is not prepared to provide any information regarding her unexpected passing. 

Her death plunged her homeland into profound sorrow, and her acquaintances, family, and friends were ill-equipped to cope with the distressing news of her passing.

According to sources, in the three weeks prior to her demise, the Brazilian songstress underwent a Nascal surgical procedure, and she was in the recuperation phase before her passing.
