About Tony Hughes, Jeffrey Dahmer’s Hearing-Impaired Victim

Anthony Tony Hughes, the victim of Jeffrey Dahmer, was born on August 26, 1959, and according to FBI records, he is mute and deaf.

According to The Sun, he also lost his hearing at a young age due to the side effects of medication he took as a child.

Hughes moved to Madison after graduating from Wisconsin School.

How Was He Murdered?

Hughes, who was 31 years old, passed away in 1991.

Hughes was killed two days before Dahmer murdered Konerak Sinthasomphone, a 14-year-old who had briefly left Dahmer’s Milwaukee apartment but had been brought back inside by police after making a 911 call.

According to Masters, Dahmer and Hughes met at the Milwaukee 219 Club. Hughes asked for a ride from three friends to Dahmer’s residence.

He was writing letters to Dahmer while they were in the backseat.

Tony wanted to invite the entire group for drinks at the apartment, but Dahmer insisted that he was only asking Tony.

Tony then conveyed this to his friends in sign language, and they understood the situation. He did not seem to be afraid of Dahmer at all.

That night, Hughes was killed by Dahmer and remained unattended on Dahmer’s bedroom floor for days.

According to Masters, Sopa Princewill, the building manager, contacted Dahmer about the smell coming from his unit.

After that, Hughes was reported missing until remains were found in Dahmer’s apartment in July 1991.
