A fellow inmate assaulted serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer to death while he was engaged in cleaning duties in a restroom at the Columbia Correctional Institute gym in Portage, Wisconsin.

Dahmer was serving 15 consecutive life sentences for the brutal killings of 15 men.

Dahmer, primarily residing in the Midwest, murdered at least 17 men over 13 years. The majority of these individuals were young gay African Americans whom Dahmer enticed back to his residence by offering to pay them to pose for nude photographs.

Following this, Dahmer typically mutilated and potentially consumed their bodies before administering drugs and strangling them to death.

Dahmer was apprehended by the police on July 22, 1991. He confessed to 15 of the 17 murders he admitted to committing.

In February 1992, he was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms in prison after the jury determined that he was mentally sound at the time of each crime.

At the age of 34, Dahmer was killed two years later by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver, who also fatally attacked inmate Jesse Anderson, the third man in their work detail.

Scarver’s motivation for killing the two inmates is unclear, although he claimed that God had instructed him to kill Dahmer and the other inmate during his subsequent criminal trial.

Scarver, who was already serving a life sentence for murder, was handed additional life sentences and transferred to a federal facility.

Guards found Dahmer in a pool of blood in a locker room adjoining a gymnasium that he was tasked with cleaning.

A 20-inch metal bar from exercise equipment had been used to assault Dahmer and the murderer Jesse Anderson.

He was admitted to the hospital promptly but was not pronounced dead immediately.

Dr. Robert Huntington III, a forensic pathologist at the University of Wisconsin, conducted his autopsy.
He stated, ‘Such was the fear of this man that chains were on the feet,’ Calls to Huntington requesting any clarification went unanswered.
