Controversy Surrounding Judy & Her Brother

William sparked controversy in 2018 by fabricating details about his ancestry, resulting in significant legal disputes.

Despite authorities noting that William Wages and his known ancestors are not recognized in any Cherokee nation rolls, he has denied any wrongdoing.

His false claim of Native American heritage sparked investigations and controversies, especially after it came to light that he received substantial government contracts based on his alleged minority status.

This put the credibility of his ties to Kevin and Judy McCarthy in question since they were aware of this information.

According to the Los Angeles Times, William and his mother’s construction company, Vortex Construction, were awarded almost $7 million in no-bid federal contracts.

Judy McCarthy’s husband, Kevin, receives criticism for Supporting Bill that Cuts Veteran Benefits

Kevin McCarthy is a native of Bakersfield and comes from a long line of Kern County residents, with his grandfather being a cattle rancher and his father a firefighter.

The White House criticized Kevin, the current Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, for supporting a Republican-backed bill that would raise the debt ceiling but make significant cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

According to the White House, the Republican-sponsored bill, which aims to maintain government spending at the 2022 level and does not specifically mention veterans’ services, would lead to the removal of 81,000 jobs at the Department of Veterans Affairs, a reduction of 30 million outpatient visits, and a backlog of 134,000 disabled veterans.

The bill would also cut $4.5 trillion from government programs, including domestic spending, cancer research, and education.

McCarthy’s office rejected these claims, stating that House Republicans would prioritize spending and not cut veterans’ benefits.

At the same time, President Joe Biden tweeted a flow chart to refute these claims, Rep.

Mike Bost, who chairs the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, accused Democrats of playing politics with veterans.

However, 24 veterans’ groups expressed “grave concerns” about the potential cuts in a letter to Congress asking lawmakers to exempt Veterans Affairs from future cuts explicitly.

Congress must raise the debt ceiling, but McCarthy and Republicans demand spending cuts.

The U.S. could reach its borrowing limit by June 1 unless the debt ceiling is raised.
