Kevin Eastman’s Murders: Fatal Night for Scott Sessions and Heather Frank

In February 2020, the shocking murder of Scott Sessions, a musician and local band member, by Kevin Eastman, rocked the Fort Collins community in Larimer County.

Scott was found deceased near Old Flowers and Pingree Park streets, approximately forty miles west of the city, with his body partially burned and nearly decapitated.

Investigators soon uncovered that his death was linked to the killing of Heather Frank, a single mother-of-three who had met Scott at a Blues Jam concert a few weeks earlier.

The investigation revealed that Sessions and Frank had gone on a date on February 8, 2020, and that he had informed his father before leaving that he was going to meet someone.

On the same day, Kevin Eastman, Frank’s ex-partner, visited her apartment and became aware of her plans to meet Scott.

Eastman, known for his volatility and history of violence, was suspected of becoming envious and furious upon learning of Frank’s intention to date someone else.

On February 10, a snow plow driver discovered Scott’s body beside a flaming log, wrapped in construction-grade plastic sheeting, near a mountain road.

He had sustained severe neck injuries, and his spinal cord was severed.

A significant pool of blood near Frank’s front door indicated that the murder had occurred there.

Frank was missing, leading authorities to speculate that she had been abducted or murdered by Eastman.

As the investigation unfolded, authorities learned that Eastman and Frank had attempted to conceal Sessions’ murder by relocating his body to a remote location and setting it on fire.

They had also disposed of evidence and provided false information to investigators. Nonetheless, authorities could track their movements using phone records and GPS trackers.

On February 16, Heather Frank’s body was found at a property owned by Eastman’s employer in Weld County.

She had been shot twice in the chest at close range and was wrapped in the same kind of plastic sheeting used on Scott’s body.

Eastman had been seen at the property earlier that day and was apprehended at a nearby gas station.

In July 2022, Eastman was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder, manipulation of a deceased body, and tampering with physical evidence.

He received two life sentences without the possibility of parole, along with an additional 27 years in prison.

The verdict offered some solace to the families of Sessions and Frank, who had endured months of grief and uncertainty.

The case of Scott Sessions and Heather Frank serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers posed by domestic violence and envy.

Eastman’s violent and possessive behavior resulted in the deaths of two innocent individuals and shattered the lives of their families and loved ones.

Furthermore, the case underscores the significance of law enforcement agencies’ efforts in investigating and resolving complex crimes such as this.
