La Jolla Cliff Collapse Onto Black Beach Video Went Viral

On Friday, one of the most well-liked beaches in the vicinity, Black’s Beach, underwent a striking transformation as lifeguards verified the occurrence of a substantial bluff collapse, prompting them to hastily oversee the situation.

The cliffs bordering the beach can tower to heights of hundreds of feet, yet this landslide is thought to be 250 feet wide and 25 feet tall.

Due to the daily influx of tourists to Black’s Beach, lifeguards have been positioned at the foot of the cliffs in pickup trucks to guarantee the safety of everyone.

Despite the noticeable change for both locals and tourists, they can take comfort in knowing that they are supervised while enjoying this cherished beach.

It’s a stroke of luck that no injuries were reported when a sizable portion of the hillside collapsed near downtown San Diego on Friday afternoon.

Fortunately, those in the vicinity had enough time to move away when they observed it beginning to occur; as per a witness, the collapse took place fairly slowly over several seconds.

Fortuitously, there was no immediate peril, as officials estimate the amount of material lost to be around 150,000 cubic yards. Despite this regrettable occurrence, it’s a relief that all those impacted remained unharmed in the end.
