Larry & Richie Carver: Did They Kill Ryan Waller & His Girlfriend?

Larry & Richie Carver stand accused of the murders of Ryan Waller and his girlfriend. Let’s investigate the circumstances.

In December 23, 2006, Larry Carver visited Ryan Waller’s residence with his son Richie to seek vengeance over an alleged conflict.

They opened fire on Ryan and his girlfriend and fled, assuming there wouldn’t be any eyewitnesses. However, Ryan survived the attack.

Richie Carver thrust his arm through the doorway of the house and fired at Mr. Waller, leaving him for dead while the Carvers attempted to gain entry into the premises.

Subsequently, presumably due to Heather Quan being a witness, the Carvers forced their way into the house and shot and killed her. A computer and several firearms were also taken from his home.

Waller was still conscious when Phoenix Police Department officers arrived.

He was taken to the hospital, where a part of his brain was removed, and he suffered the loss of his left eye due to the gunshot wound.

Later, detectives uncovered that Waller had been living with Richie Carver.

Richie Carver was convicted in June 2008 of felony murder, burglary, assault with a deadly weapon, and misconduct with a firearm and given a natural life sentence.

The charges against Larry Carver were eventually dropped after his wife invoked her marital privilege and refused to testify against him. The case against him was partially grounded on confessions he made to her.

Following this, Heather Quan’s family urged the authorities to pass “Heather’s Law,” which changed the status of marital privilege to compel a defendant’s spouse to provide testimony.

Larry Carver was reindicted in November 2011 for First-Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder, Burglary, and Aggravated Assault after a legal dispute over whether the law could be retroactively applied to his case.

The jury deliberated for two and a half days following the ten-day trial before finding the defendant guilty on all counts.

Richie was found guilty and given a life sentence in jail in 2008. Additionally, Larry Lloyd Carver was convicted of being responsible for the murder of Heather Quan on a number of counts.

Judge Susanna Pineda reindicted Larry Carver on January 25, 2013, and he was found guilty of aggravated assault, burglary, first-degree murder, and attempted first-degree murder.

What Occurred with Ryan Waller & His Girlfriend?

On December 23, 2006, Larry Carver and his son Richie went to Ryan Waller’s residence to seek retribution while Ryan and his girlfriend Heather Quan were enjoying a peaceful evening at their apartment.

Ryan Waller had to investigate a strange knock on the door to see who it might be. The Carvers brandished a gun and aimed it at Waller as soon as the door was forced open.

When Ryan Waller resisted the door being opened by Carver and his son Richie, he was shot in the face, rendering him unconscious.

Then, presumably because Heather Quan was a witness, the Carvers entered the apartment and shot her in the head. Larry Carver and his son scoured the apartment and absconded with firearms and a computer, but Waller was still alive.

Waller too perished after surviving multiple injuries. His demise was also due to police negligence.
