Following an unprovoked attack by the family dogs, both Hollace Dean Bennard, aged five months, and Lilly Jane Bennard, aged two years, tragically lost their lives on Wednesday.

This heartbreaking incident took place in a home located outside Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park in Shelby County, Tennessee.

The couple’s two infants, Lilly and Hollace, were the only children in the family.

While the specifics of Lilly Jana Bennard’s obituary have not yet been disclosed, Harvey has mentioned that a candlelight vigil will be held soon.

What Occurred with the Family?

On Wednesday afternoon, the family’s dogs viciously attacked the young children, and Kirstie Jane Bennard of Millington made efforts to rescue them for over ten minutes.

According to some sources, the dogs were known to be friendly, making the reason for the sudden attack and change in behavior unknown.

Lilly Jane and Hollace Dean Bennard, two young children, lost their lives to their own pet dogs at home, while their mother remains hospitalized after trying to save them.

Despite all the efforts, Lilly Jane and Hollace Dean Bennard succumbed to their injuries.

Kirstie Jane Bennard, the mother of the children, was also injured during the tragic event and is currently in critical condition at the hospital.

According to her husband’s uncle, Jeff Gibson, the mother has suffered ‘countless stitches and bite marks all over her body, including her face, while both her arms and legs are completely bandaged.’

Colby Bennard, her husband of five years, may or may not have been present during the distressing incident, but he remained unharmed.

The pit bulls involved in the incident were taken into custody by Animal Control, as confirmed by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, although no details about the cause of the tragedy have been made public.

According to reports, Mr. Bennard had previously referred to the pets as the house lions on his Instagram account.

According to Gibson, Kirstie’s injuries will not result in any ‘lasting damage, other than a heart that will never heal,’ as per the Mail.

As per a family acquaintance, the mother of two is doing her best to cope with the situation.

The county’s Animal Control took the dogs into their care, and they were later euthanized.

Emergency services were summoned to a home near Shelby Forest State Park in Tennessee on Wednesday after the family’s two pit bulls reportedly attacked a five-month-old boy and a two-year-old girl at approximately 3:30 p.m., as per the sheriff’s office.
