Lindsay Hartley will Temporarily Replace Kelly Monaco

Fans of Kelly Monaco will witness her character in a slightly different light this week. Soap Opera Digest has reported that Lindsay Hartley will be stepping into Sam’s role once again while the actress takes a brief hiatus from the ABC soap since January.

Monaco has already returned to the ABC Studios to film scenes, so she will be back on your screens before you know it.

This is not the first time General Hospital has had to substitute other actors to fill in for their stars.

In 2017, Days of Our Lives alum Jen Lilley took over for Kirsten Storms as Maxie, and in 2020 fellow GH actor Jon Lindstrom (Kevin/Ryan) joined his real-life wife Cady McClain (ex-Jennifer) on the Salem soap to stand in for Matthew Ashford as her onscreen hubby Jack.

Sam McCall is a character on the long-standing daytime soap opera General Hospital.

Actress Kelly Monaco portrayed Sam since the character’s debut on G.H. in 2003.

After Monaco’s brief absence from G.H. in July 2020, Lindsay Hartley took on the role of Sam McCall until Monaco’s return.

Monaco reprised her role as Sam on August 18, 2020.

Hartley filled in for Monaco as Sam again on February 3, 2022.

Lindsay and Justin tied the knot on May 1, 2004, in an intimate ceremony with close friends and family. Their daughter, Isabella Justice Hartley, was born on July 3, 2004. Los Angeles was their home. 

Lindsay filed for divorce from Justin in Los Angeles County Superior Court on May 6, 2012, citing “irreconcilable differences,” and requested joint physical and legal custody of their daughter.
