Marco Chacón is the husband of Maribel Guardia, a Costa Rican businessperson.
They got married in 2010 and have remained a couple ever since. Before their marriage, Maribel was previously married to Joan Sebastian, a Mexican singer, and composer, but they separated in 1996.
Chacón is the owner of the enterprise “Playa Azul,” which focuses on tourism and real estate development. He has also been involved in politics, serving as a legislator in the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica from 2006 to 2010.
Despite his success in business, Chacón prefers to keep a low profile and stay out of the public eye. He rarely appears with his wife in public and is seldom featured in the media.
Maribel Guardia’s spouse, Chacón, is a thriving entrepreneur who has established a reputation for himself in commerce.
Under his leadership, ISA has grown into one of the leading energy infrastructure firms in the region, with operations in over ten countries.
Aside from his involvement with ISA, Chacón is also affiliated with various philanthropic pursuits, including the Marco Chacón Foundation, which champions various social and environmental causes in Costa Rica and across Latin America.
However, Guardia has publicly discussed her husband, depicting him as a caring, supportive, and affectionate partner who has been her constant support throughout their marriage.
During an episode of La Saga Live hosted by Adela Micha, Maribel Guardia revealed that her spouse, Marco Chacón, played a pivotal role in her decision not to have more children.
When Maribel’s pregnancy did not progress, she expressed a willingness to undergo fertility treatment for another chance, but Chacón discouraged her.
Maribel Guardia’s husband reportedly dissuaded her, “No, refrain from doing it. I have Julián. The world is teeming with children who are neglected; it’s overcrowded. It’s a horrendous vanity to have children,” making it clear that he did not want to have another child.
She has also credited him with helping her maintain a balanced lifestyle and creating a secure, contented home life for their family.
Despite their diverse backgrounds and careers, the couple has nurtured a strong and affectionate marriage founded on mutual respect, trust, and support.
