Ryan McKenna’s selfie has been making the rounds on social media. The internet sensation emerged after Justin Timberlake ventured into the stands at Super Bowl 2018 and took a selfie with him.

Ryan, who had an amazing time at Super Bowl 2018, did not have a pleasant experience this past Super Bowl weekend.

Ryan McKenna, now 18, was arrested on Saturday, February 11th, at a shopping mall in Naples, Florida. Allegedly, he was intoxicated and engaged in a scuffle with friends inside a California Pizza Kitchen, according to TMZ.

Law enforcement officers were met by a 15-year-old boy at the restaurant. Reportedly, he informed them that he and the social media star, whom he referred to as a friend, had a disagreement that quickly escalated, with McKenna standing up and aggressively shoving their table.

He also purportedly used offensive language towards the boy’s girlfriend.

However, McKenna’s mother, Tracy, came to her son’s defense and informed the outlet that her son was not inebriated and was engaging in playful banter with his friend after one of them pulled Ryan’s chair out from under him.

Officers also mentioned that McKenna attempted to confront the 15-year-old again while they were speaking with the boy. McKenna was reportedly instructed to step away but continued to pursue him until the police intervened to calm him down.

McKenna supposedly became confrontational with law enforcement, gesticulating, shouting, and attempting to approach the 15-year-old boy. In contrast, the officers continued to explain that the shopping center security wished to have him escorted off the premises.

They indicated that they tried to restrain McKenna, but he allegedly persisted in shouting and attempting to free himself from the officers’ grasp.

McKenna resisted arrest, claiming that he continued to resist before they could handcuff him.

As per his arrest records, McKenna was apprehended for assaulting a law enforcement officer, in addition to two misdemeanors: resisting an officer without violence and assaulting an officer.

He was detained at the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and released on bond on Super Bowl Sunday.
