Parentage of Griffin Brandon, Stephen Bonnar

Stephen Bonnar is an American mixed martial artist and professional wrestler who primarily competed in the UFC as a Light Heavyweight.

His loss to Forrest Griffin in the TUF Ultimate Finale of The Ultimate Fighter 1 is considered one of the most pivotal matches in UFC history.

Bonnar has often played the “role of the underdog” throughout his MMA career, most notably in his bout with Anderson Silva at UFC 153.

In addition to Griffin and Silva, Bonnar faced off against world champions such as Lyoto Machida, Tito Ortiz, Mark Coleman, Jon Jones, and Rashad Evans.

The UFC acknowledges SB’s distinguished career and highlights UFC President Dana White’s description of Stephen Bonnar as” one of the most influential fighters to ever participate in the Octagon. His face-off with Forrest Griffin changed the history of the sport, and he will always be remembered. Fans loved him, could relate to him, and he always gave his best for them. We will miss him.”

Bonnar was a trailblazer in the UFC and took part in the inaugural season of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2005, reaching the final match.

Though he fell short in his Light Heavyweight bout against Forrest Griffin, the fight earned him a contract with the UFC, where he spent several years competing at a high level.

Bonnar’s legacy will be as one of the key figures in shaping the UFC into what it is today and as one of the most prominent fighters in the history of the sport. His only survivors are his son, Griffin, and his wife, Andrea. He was 45.
