Eddie Was Previously Engaged To Dena

Eddie Huang was previously engaged to Dena during a trip to China. Nevertheless, after 18 months, cultural disparities led to the dissolution of the engagement. 

According to Huang’s memoir, he and Dena shared wonderful times together, with Huang intending to propose during their visit to their ancestral home in China.

Regrettably, their plans were thwarted when Dena’s father, Mr. Fusco, disapproved of the proposal due to his biased opinions about China. This deeply hurt Huang and ultimately led to the termination of the engagement.

Eddie Huang was born on March 1, 1982, in Washington D.C. He is not only a restaurateur but also an author, culinary personality, and producer. 

Huang’s parents, Jessica Huang and Louis Huang, are immigrants from Taiwan. The Huang family initially settled in Silver Spring, Maryland, a suburb of Washington D.C., before relocating to Orlando, Florida, where they established a business and settled down. 

Eddie Huang has two younger brothers, Emery Huang and Evan Huang, both of whom are also involved in the restaurant industry. Eddie is the eldest of the three siblings.

Louis, Huang’s father, owned and managed a successful chain of seafood and grill restaurants, including Atlantic Bay Seafood & Grill and Cattleman’s Ranch Steakhouse. 

Eddie Huang’s family hails from China, with his parents being born in Taiwan but their ancestral roots in Hunan and Shandong provinces of Mainland China.

The Huang brothers launched the BaoHaus restaurant in the Lower East Side of Lower Manhattan in 2009. Later, in July 2011, the restaurant relocated to the East Village, offering an expanded menu.
