Konerack Sinthasomphone was brutally killed by Jeffrey Dahmer, who sprayed hydrochloric acid into the victim’s head after drilling a hole into the victim’s skull, as detailed in the Netflix documentary “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.” Unbeknownst to Jeffrey, he had drugged and sexually assaulted Konerack’s brother, Somsack Sinthasomphone, inflicting pain on another member of the Sinthasomphone family.
Fortunately, Somsack survived, but the horrendous event left a lasting impact on him.
Who Is Somsack Sinthasomphone?
Konerack and Somsack Sinthasomphone were raised in the US by a dedicated family that had immigrated from Laos.
In spite of facing difficulties due to their less-than-ideal socioeconomic circumstances during their childhood, both Somsack and Konerack were diligent individuals who were eager to make a name for themselves.
It is of note that Somsack, aged 13 at the time, first encountered Jeffrey Dahmer in September 1988. At that time, Jeffrey had just moved into his apartment after leaving his grandmother’s house.
He recognized that the young boy might be easily deceived, so he made an effort to entice Somsack to come to his apartment and pose for some nude photographs.
Remarkably, Jeffrey never attempted to kill Somsack or physically harm him. However, Jeffrey did drug and sexually assault the 13-year-old before Somsack managed to escape and leave the residence.
On September 27, 1988, following the incident, law enforcement officers apprehended Jeffrey. In January 1989, Jeffrey eventually pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault and luring a minor for immoral purposes.
He was sentenced to one year in prison with work release and five years of probation in May of that year. Moreover, the judge mandated Jeffrey to register as a sexual offender.
Additionally, at the time of Konerack’s death, Jeffrey was on probation for abusing Somsack.
Where Is Somsack Sinthasomphone Now?
When the authorities arrested Jeffrey Dahmer and identified Konerack as one of his victims, Somsack had already returned to his family and was still living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, following the traumatic experience.
Furthermore, the Estate of Sinthasomphone and Konerak’s family sued the Milwaukee Police Department and the City of Milwaukee for allegedly violating their constitutional rights.
Since then, Somsack Sinthasomphone has chosen to maintain privacy in his personal life and has preferred to keep a low profile. However, it appears that Somsack Sinthasomphone is now married and resides in Wisconsin with his wife.
