Wisconsin Volleyball Team Leaks Private Photos & Videos

Following the revelation that confidential photos and videos of the University of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team were being circulated online, they confronted Michigan State on the court.

Mere 24 hours after leaked topless locker room snapshots spread online, the University of Wisconsin women’s volleyball team competed in their next game.

An investigation is underway at the University of Wisconsin to determine how the intimate images and videos of the national champion women’s volleyball team were shared publicly without their consent.

In a statement from Wisconsin’s athletic administration released on Wednesday, players immediately reported the public exposure of the images to campus police.

The statement did not specify when or where the images or videos were taken, but later online photos appeared to depict the players revealing their breasts after winning the previous season’s Big Ten championship.

Although the involved players have not been identified, additional images and a video clip are available online.

According to the school statement, police are ‘examining several offenses, including the unauthorized publication of sensitive photos,’

On Thursday, Marc Lovicott, a University of Wisconsin Police spokesperson, confirmed the ongoing inquiry. He declined to share additional information due to the ongoing investigation.

There are currently no pending criminal investigations involving the volleyball players.

The athletes are not under investigation for misconduct, as stated in the announcement, and will be provided with appropriate resources to support their well-being.

The Wisconsin State Journal reported that the photos and video were captured in the locker room using a team member’s phone.

According to the statement, the photos and videos were never intended for public view and were shared without the team’s permission. UW and UWPD have declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation and the student-athletes’ privacy rights.

‘We are aware that UW volleyball student-athletes’ personal images and videos are circulating online, despite never being intended for public consumption. The unauthorized sharing constitutes a severe and unjustified violation of student privacy, potentially breaching university regulations and legal obligations. When the student-athletes became aware of the circulating images, they approached the UW-Madison Police Department. UWPD is investigating a range of offenses, including the unauthorized dissemination of private images. The volleyball student-athletes are not under investigation by UWPD in this instance. Our top priority is to support our student-athletes, and we are providing them with the necessary services and resources.’
